Ifia/HFEJapan, organized by the Japan Food Chemical News Agency, is Japan's leading professional exhibition for food ingredients and additives. In 2019, the exhibition featured 416 companies from China, South Korea, the United States, Malaysia, Finland, India, and Japan, covering an exhibition area of 24,000 square meters. It attracted 42,168 professional visitors and hosted 318 academic exchange meetings and new product launches concurrently.
Among the professional visitors, manufacturers accounted for 60% of the total, with companies specializing in food ingredients and raw materials making up 25.8%, food additives 12.5%, and health and wellness foods 8.6%. In 2019, 46 Chinese companies participated, exhibiting products including: natural pigments, antioxidants, preservatives, acidulants (citric acid, organic acids, etc.), quality improvers (a series of phosphates), sweeteners, edible gums (algin, carrageenan, agar, and other seaweed gums and derivatives), nutritional fortifiers (amino acid series products, calcium gluconate), food ingredients, dehydrated vegetables, and vegetable and fruit juices.
